Trying to get my mind off of things, went to a free concert in Stern Grove here in SF – right across from the Scottish Rite Masconic Temple on 19th and Sloat – to see the reunion of Ranking Roger and Dave Wakeling with the current reboot of the English Beat (just The Beat in the UK). Although not quite the same without Andy Cox, Saxa, Everett Morton or David Steele, it was still very cool to see Fish from Fishbone on drums, and to hear more than half of the songs from the very first album I Just Can’t Stop It played – including the first five songs of the set, leading off with Rough Rider, then Tears of a Clown, Hands Off She’s Mine, Can’t Get Used To Losing You, Ranking Full Stop, Twist and Crawl and Mirror in the Bathroom. Other songs played included Save It For Later and I Confess from the 3rd album, and Tenderness and Never You Done That from the first General Public album. They also played a cover of I’ll Take You There, which I think may have been on the 2nd General Public album. A beautiful day, lots of people out, all in all a great dance picnic in the sun for thousands of happy campers, myself included.  Quite a throwback to highschool days.

I received a form letter response from my FOI/PA request, and it states there are no records to report.  Glad to hear I’m not on the FBI most wanted list.  Sadly the same cannot be said for Edgar Steele who appears to have been completely set up:
